Break Away’s Learning Components - education, orientation, and training - are at the core of a high quality community engagement programs. These three components contextualize the actual community engagement and connect social issue education to reflection and service for a more sustainable alternative break experience. This workshop will assist students in creating a more reciprocal experience wherein students will understand how to use education, orientation and training - before, during, and after the trip - to benefit both the students and the communities they work with.
